With the 2018/19 ENZED Central Muscle Cars final round to be contested at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park in Taupo next month, no less than four drivers are seen vying for championship honours heading into the last of the scheduled seven rounds.
As is the norm, the thundering, crowd-pleasing Central Muscle Cars have provided plenty of on-track action since the first round was held in mid-October at the Hampton Downs Circuit, near Auckland.
While a total of 33 Group 1 cars have scored points, the focus will be on the leading quartet of drivers who will by vying for outright honours, including current points leader Dean Perkins who sits a handy, but not comfortable, 75 points clear of second placed Grant Dalton, while both Angus Fogg and Clarke Hopkins are also a mathematical chance to challenge for late title glory.
The battle in Group 2 is no less intense with three drivers all in the mix for the season-ending silverware, where Mark Holland currently leads Paul Boden and Bruce Kett with just 77 points spread across the trio.
With more than 200 points on offer for both groups the April 13-14 action in Taupo is as eagerly awaited by drivers and teams and as it is by the loyal legion of ENZED Central Muscle Car fans.
